Capacity is only one part of choosing well
Portable spas are sold in overlapping bands rather than one universal footprint. A manufacturer may describe one model as suitable for 4–6 adults, while fixed-seat acrylic tubs use a specific number of moulded seats. That is why we calculate a useful starting point and confirm the actual supplied model later.
Safety guidance matters too. The CDC advises keeping users at or below maximum capacity, not allowing children under five to use hot tubs and keeping water at no more than 40°C.
